Is Your Shopify Store Ready for Google Shopping? Run This Free 60-Second Check

“Are my products even Google-ready?” Every merchant asks this when starting with Google Shopping or staring at disapprovals in Merchant Center. Until now, an answer required a feed export or an app install. Now your store address is enough: the Feed Doctor quick-scan checks your Shopify catalog in about 60 seconds. It's free: no file, no signup, no access rights.

How the quick-scan works

Every Shopify store serves its public catalog in machine-readable form, essentially the same data Google sees when crawling your pages. That public view is exactly what the test reads: enter your store address on feeddoctor.gbdesign.art (e.g. www.your-store.com or your-store.myshopify.com), and the report groups every issue it finds by cause, with the affected products and a clear recommendation for each.

What gets checked

  • Missing product images: Google disapproves offers without an image.
  • Missing or empty descriptions, since Google requires real product text.
  • Risky health claims: wording like “heals” or “clinically proven” violates the policies, a classic in cosmetics and personal care.
  • Overlong titles and ALL CAPS: Google truncates titles over 150 characters and treats shouting titles as promotional.
  • Missing product type, without which category mapping in Merchant Center usually fails.
  • Missing shipping weight, one of the most common disapproval reasons of all.
  • Unavailable products: offers whose page shows no buyable variant.

What the quick-scan honestly cannot see

The test only reads what is publicly visible. Three things fundamentally aren't: GTINs/barcodes, the Google product category, and unpublished drafts still sitting in the Google channel. The full diagnosis covers those, via feed-file upload on the same page (also free) or, soon, directly in our Shopify app. We'd rather state the limits clearly than fake completeness.

The first step against disapprovals is knowing what Google sees, not what sits in your backend.

Three steps to your result

  1. Open feeddoctor.gbdesign.art.
  2. Enter your store address in the “Test your store in 60 seconds” field and click “Scan”.
  3. Read the report: each issue group shows the affected products with a link and the matching fix.

And then?

If the quick-scan finds problems, you have three paths: fix the points yourself following the recommendations, run the full free diagnosis with your feed file (including a corrected feed to download), or leave the work to us: as a Shopify agency we take your disapprovals to zero. Feed Doctor's core feature set stays free until 30 August 2026.

One more note on the Shopify app: Feed Doctor is now live in the Shopify App Store and installs straight into your store, at apps.shopify.com/feed-doctor-1. The diagnosis stays free in the app permanently, and until 30 August 2026 you can additionally apply one complete fix run per store for free. Not on Shopify? The quick test here on this page is still yours to use.
